The Prayer America banquet was held at the newly completed Maritime Park, overlooking the beautiful Pensacola Bay. The completion of the park, a 54 million dollar project, is a landmark in the already rich history of the City of Pensacola. The Prayer America banquet was a ground-breaking event, as it is the first ever prayer event held at the Maritime Park.
Unbeknownst to most, Pensacola is the first settlement in the United States. In 1559, Don Tristan de Luna y Arellano established a short-lived settlement right at the Pensacola Bay. This was the first European-established settlement in what is now the continental United States.
The most powerful region in the world can trace its beginnings to a city called Pensacola. With this in mind, we know that the Prayer America banquet, held right here in America's first settlement, at a landmark location overlooking the very bay where de Luna and his colony settled, will prove to have far-reaching effects that will continue many years after this conference.
Both men and women joined as we link hands together and prayed for this great nation! Just as the expansion and prosperity of the "New World" had its beginnings in the City of Pensacola, right at the Pensacola Bay, we believe that the beginning of a great revival in our nation can start right here... with us... as we pray together.
